how to use it
In the evening, apply to clean, dry skin. Wait 10-15 minutes before applying moisturizer. Use only every other night for the first two months. If irritation or excess flaking occurs, decrease frequency of application or discontinue use. Daily use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 is required for best results.
This is exactly the same as MaMa, but it's the same price so you might as well get this because the pump is handy. It seems to do an average job of resurfacing my skin, however the product feels sticky and requires almost an hour to fully soak in.

While I am grateful for this product as it prevents me from getting the awful cystic acne I first developed at 12 years of age, it is undeniably inferior to the original formula. I received a tiny tube of Mama Lotion as a sample with another purchase once, and was shocked and amazed to find it removing the red tone from my face within one night. Within a week it had cleared up my nearly life-long cystic acne. When I went to purchase more of this wonder product, I was weary to see that it had been changed. I was right to be weary, because it is simply not as effective. Please bring back the original! I am obviously not alone in this sentiment. We want and need it desperately, and are begging you to restore it.
I really wish I liked this. I had used MaMa Lotion for years and loved it; there was no reason to change it other than to remove parabens but beyond that I absolutely swore by it. After finishing my last bottle of MaMa I was excited to try the new and "improved" M2......what a disappointment! I wouldn't mind the ultra sticky consistency so much if I still got at least the same results as I did with MaMa. I am now looking for a replacement and hope I may find the same "holy grail" in Green Cream that I did in MaMa. Too bad because it really was such a great product!

After several trips over the years to Florida I was noticing some dark spots on my face. So rather than use ambi or another lightner I opted to give M2 skin refinish a try. Within a few days I noticed that red marks from pimples were reduced in color and size. I also no longer was experiencing any breakouts on my face which despite being 40 years of age still occur with all too regular frequency. I've been using the 12% formulation now for about 3 months. The overall tone of my skin has definitely improved. I think the darkening spots are also gradually getting lighter too. Perhaps the best think I've noticed is that I've always had a very rough time shaving with trouble getting a close shave and lots of irritation. Since using M2 I've been getting a very close, smooth shave with far less irritation and igrown hairs than in the past. I also purchased the 15% version of the M2 line as I though 20% might be a bit too strong and I've been using the 15% on my beard area to speed up the results. I find the 15% formulation does cause some irritation if I don't use a moisturerizer (same for the 20%) but unlike the 20% I'm able to use the 15% everyday with only minimal peeling. In short, my face looks the best it has in probably the last eight years and I'll keep using the product. I find that while the product is "sticky" it does soak in after about 15 minutes. A small price to pay for a product that actualy works.
I absolutely LOVE this product! I tell everyone about it and have been using it for over a year now. I have had acne since I was a teen and it never got better (I'm now 31). After many antibiotics, every prescription cream given to me by my dermatologist, and two treatments of Accutane, I can say that this product worked better than anything I have tried. Actually, for me, it's the only thing that has ever worked. I don't break out anymore, only on occasion during that time of the month, and it has helped clear up the melasma I had from my pregnancy. It is a miracle and I will use it for the rest of my life!
I do not love the texture of this, it's very sticky. So far it hasn't burned or irritated my skin, which I like. But honestly, when I am getting ready for bed, it's because I am tired, not because I have 15 minutes that I want to wait with this product on my face, before I put on my moisturizer. I find that to be a hassle, and while I like the look of my skin, I get results just as good using MD Forte II. I will use it until it's gone, but I probably won't buy it again. If they could eliminate the stickiness and reduce the wait time to put on moisturizer I think they'd really improve this product.
I have been using this serum for years now. First the MaMa lotion, then the M2. It's worked wonders on my African-American skin. It really smooths the surface. It does take a little time for it to fade my hyperpigmentation when I do get a breakout, but over time I'm able to use less and less concealer. I really wrote this review to mention how bad the packaging is. I've had to get new bottles replaced because the tops have broken off. They really need to improve on that, but otherwise a great product.
The best product I've used for erasing brown spots next to going to a Dermatologist! It worked immediately. It has diminished pore size and kept my skin clear. I use the cleanser also and the moisturizer. I like them all.
I started using this product along with Differin from my dermatologist. The M2 took the redness out of my skin and smoothed out all the little bumps on my cheeks in no time. I didn't even use the differin on my cheeks until I ran out of my M2, and I now realize how well the M2 worked. It made me scab less, and it would exfoliate so well that after using it consistently I had zero redness or spots. With stopping use I have four huge red spots on my face just two weeks after stopping use. My skin has never looked as good as when I have been using it. I actually use it during the day and do not need extra moisturizer except around my eyes and nose when I first started which didn't last long. Also initially it burned my skin when i applied it, but that went away after just a couple days. ( I also have EXTREMELY sensitive skin which may be why.) I use it during the day instead so that I do not feel like I am sticking to my pillow, and my husband hated the smell. I put it on my skin in the morning when it is dry, and I actually apply make-up powder over the top a few minutes later and it has not affected my results. I love this product, and it has made a world of difference. It has taken redness out of my skin that I have had since I was a pre-teen!
I had great results with the original MaMa lotion. Earlier this year, I purchased M2 lotion and use it once a day at night. I began suffering from breakouts (not sure of the cause even now but suspect it may be hormonal and perhaps due to aging-related skin changes, not due to M2 lotion) and found that the M2 lotion did nothing to alleviate the acne that cropped up. While it did nothing to prevent or alleviate my acne, it still does reveal smoother, more youthful skin. I've found that I needed to go back to 2% salicylic acid (Paula's Choice) in addition to using the M2 lotion to achieve clear(er) skin... I now use the 2% salicylic acid toner prior to applying the M2 lotion at night. This also helps alleviate the stickiness (even using less than a full pump for my face leaves a tacky finish unless I use the toner prior OR apply a moisturizer afterwards). If I fail to use the M2 lotion, my skin is duller and more coarse/unrefined looking...
How could I not buy this for so long?? I was using tretinoin cream but now I'm pregnant and my skin needed some boost. After reading reviews I bought and literally I saw difference after 1 night (smoother skin, lighter scars). I used it next night but this is very strong product and my skin was still smooth and radiant, but also a bit irritated (red and it hurt like after tretinoin). So I have to use only every other night or less, but it really fades my scars and now I have to wait for darker sun spots to disappear as well. My face sticks too pillow too, even after moisturizer but it is so worth it!:)
I guess from all the rave reviews I was expecting this product to live up to its praise. Sadly, for me, it did not. It broke my skin out 50x worse than it was before - I mean huge pustules all over my face. I know skin has to purge but this was ridiculous! The minute I stopped using it my face starting clearing up. I have strong skin as I have used Obagi Nu-Derm with Retin A for years. I only stopped and switched to this because I got pregnant and could not use the Obagi / Retin A. I was having some hormonal breakouts but this stuff is a no go... It smelled horrible too. It would make my hair smell also. I just have nothing but negative things to say about this. I wish it would have worked for me!
I like this product. I had a sample and I tried that. Then I purchased the product. First of all, in my experience, it is best to exfoliate the skin first before applying this product. When I exfoliate first, then when I apply this product it doesn't sit on the skin and flake off later. It penetrates. I like what it does as far as skin texture and mature skin. I then apply my moisturizer and that makes a big difference. I use this product only at night so it can work all night. The only thing I don't like is the packaging. I can't believe that the manufacturer did such a poor job with the packaging. If I screw the lid to the top--which is how it is suppose to dispense then the lid comes off and I have to figure out how to get it back on. Plus, the safety need of having the product sealed is not in place so the product can be easily opened and the customer wouldn't even know it. I really like Skincare Rx and have purchased from them for a long time which is the only reason I am sticking out this product. It is a hassle to get out so I will really have to see a significant difference with my skin to keep using this product. OR the manufacturer could change the packaging to a workable solution and then I would use again.
I have been using this product for about two months and I absolutely love it. My pores and blackheads have reduced greatly and I am pleased with the results. The packaging still should be improved BUT the product is well worth it. I am going to keep using this product because I do see a difference.
I got a small sample in the mail with another product. I never asked for the M2. But I tried it even though I had little faith in these potions after so many years of assorted promises. I ordered it within a week. Not much to say, except it is pretty amazing. Works great on my mature skin with Rosacea and has cleared it up easily. I now find it in my 15 year old son's bathroom all the time because he found out that it clears up his acne better than anything else out there on the market. Just put in on at night before bed. A little goes a long way. I'm very grateful someone made this product.
Throughout the years (and there have been many) I've tried just about every product advertised for mixed, acne-prone skin, including Proactive. When I first discovered Mama lotion in 2006, I saw a MAJOR difference not only fro acne, but also for discoloration and the beginning of wrinkles disappeared. I now use M2 20% as I have mature skin. I am getting compliments over and over. No one believes my age so I swear by this product only. Some of you find it 'sticky' but I find it makes a fabulous base for moisturizer. Don,t give up on it, you'll see the difference!

I've been using this product for over a month now as a spot treatment and also around my nose every night. The pores around my nose is less clogged and slightly more refined. For the last 20 years, I usually get 1 or 2 cyst every month and it takes several months to go away. It usually leaves a scar too. Anyone with cystic acne knows what I mean. This product for me works better than Differin or Retina because it reduces the inflammation quickly without a lot of irritation. It also got rid of the acne on my chest and back. It does have a funny smell but it doesn't bother me because I only use it at night.
I really love this product. I was kind of bothered by a little burning at first, but I also have very sensitive skin. The stickiness was also bothersome, but I also let it soak in a bit, and used a face towel on my pillow. I usually have discolored skin and very clogged pores. This product eliminated most of the clogged pores and shrunk my pores significantly. I couped this produce with La Roche-Possay's Effaclar cleanser, toner, and their acne treatment during the day. I have to say, my skin has never been so clean.
I have sensitive skin w/some rosacea. I thought I'd give this stuff a chance to work,...1.5 months of use. Although my pores look a bit smaller,.I think it has irritatated my skin. I seem to have more little red patches. And I've been noticing little small bumps. It's super sticky,..and my face sticks to my pillow case...but I only use it at night. Can't imagine walking around w/it during the day. And when I wash my face in the morning,..I can still feel it's slimy sitckiness. I've stopped using it and sticking w/my Kinerase. I think it is a very aggressive
skin product,....and it gets more aggressive the more it is being used.
The 20% is probably too strong for most rosacea-prone skin. I use the 12% every other day and feel that that is more than enough on my sensitive skin (though I don't have rosacea).

I should have started with the M2 for sensitive skin and work up to this. I also was using Prevage at the time but not together. Needless to say the product works but should start slow as I was very red with raw skin for a week. NEO CUTIS helped heal my skin. I use sensitive and rotate with the 20% depending on state of skin. It really removes melasma, THANKS TO LIZ for suggesting I try.

I Love this product. I recently ordered my products from La-Roche Posay and received this as a sample. I have been suffering from acne for so long now. I also have large pores which I hate! I have been using this for about 2 wks now and have noticed a huge improvement in my skin. My pores seem much smaller and my breakouts have subsided. I use this in the morning before I put on my moisturizer and I love the way it feels on my skin. Thank you for the sample.
I was really hoping I would be able to write an awesome review for this M2 lotion and have the same fast results as nearly everyone else has...And now I totally can!! I have been using this for ONE week along with PCA's Phaze 13 and already my skin looks amazing. Really, I should say my skin looks 'normal' since I have severe cystic acne and mass amounts of inflammation and scarring because of it, but now instead of wanting to go out with a bag on my head I can wear touches of concealer and a light dusting of mineral powder. In one week! I am amazed. I will update my review once I have been using this a while longer.
This stuff is crap...mama lotion was better..this stuff does not absorb...just sits on the skin, like glue...its soooo sticky..and it doesnt even go away until you wash your face..the fine lint from anything ea. pillows, clothes etc will stick your face like a lint roller!..i wish i never wasted money on this product and will never buy again...ever!
I cannot stand the new M2 refinish formula either. I loved the MAMA Lotion. After years of searching and stumbling across that. It was my saving grace. The new formula does not absorb into your skin leaves a waxy sticky film on top of your skin and clogs my pores. I let my mom try it without telling her my complaint. She got up after going to bed and washed it off her face. We must have the old MAMA Lotion Formula back the way is was before. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It does help if you use a small amount and spread it very thin. Also, apply a moisturizer afterwards, and the stickiness will dissipate.
Because malic acid and mandelic acid, by nature, are tacky and this has a 20% concentration of those ingredients - it will be impossible to eliminate or even drastically reduce the stickiness, without adding a lot of pore-clogging additives. The original Mama lotion had a lot more silicones in it, which did improve the stickiness slightly, but also caused breakouts in a lot of people. In order to make the formulation more friendly for a wider variety of acne-prone skin types, we reduced the silicone content.
However, that does not mean we are ignoring the issue - we are currently exploring a new technology that may improve the feel of the product, without introducing additional comedogenic emollients, and without affecting the effectiveness or strength of the formula.
If you put to much of the Skin Refinish on your skin will feel tacky. Cut down on how much you use...you will like the product just as much as the MaMa Lotion.
I used MaMa lotion and loved it. M2 is good but not as good as MaMa. My brown spots from sun damage were much lighter actually almost gone with MaMa lotion. The M2 does not control this as well and it is very very sticky. But I haven't had any acne which is a plus. Overall I still prefer MaMa. I hope it will return.
I love this product. Yes, it is sticky, but your asleep with you use it. I just try to have it on about 30 minutes before I go to sleep, allowing it to soak into my skin so it won't get on my pillow case as much. After a day or 2 I notice my skin doesn't seem to get as oily during the day. After a week or so my pores appear smaller and breakouts healed. After that the above changes take a permanently hold, plus I don't break out AT ALL. Now, I do have some red post acne marks. I can;t really tell if it has worked on these yet. My skin is less red because it has healed my acne so I don't have any current acne, and I have nothing to "pick at" on my skin so there is no redness from that. It does make my skin peel (when I get my face wet in the shower and rub my hands over it my skin peels off leaving soft, smooth skin), so I imagine it is just a matter of time before it gets to the skin that has the acne scars and peels that away.
I definitely notice nights when I skip it. My skin almost immediately gets more oily and pores larger. I use this with the moisturizer and LOVE it. I am getting the cleanser today.
I was using the Obagi C RX kit. Obagi has NOTHING on M2 as far as I am concerned. I didn't notice the Obagi doing anything. Made me peel but didn't help with acne, oil or pore size which are my main concerns. I had used it for 3 months. In 2 weeks M2 did more then Obagi did in 3 MONTHS (and at a fraction of the cost!)
bought this for the main purpose of reducing my terrible hyperpigmentation from excessive sun-exposure and i've got to say the results were pretty good! after almost two months my skin tone has even out a lot compared to before. i'm pretty thankful for this because i was sure i was gonna look splotchy for the rest of my life! however my acne problem hasn't improved much. i don't seem to have anymore large pimples on my cheeks now but i'm still having a TERRIBLE time with black heads around my chin and on my forehead :/ that was quite a bummer.
Seriously... FLY-PAPER STICKY until you wash it off. Pump dispenser doesn't work. It's a decent design, but nothing comes out of it. I've shaken it, tapped it, taken the cap off to see if it was jammed or not on right... I thought maybe since I just started using it there wasn't enough stuff in the tube, but after multiple battles, it still doesn't work. It takes about 10 pumps to get it to spit out enough to cover my face.
I also tried the moisturizer & that has THE WORST pump/dispenser I've ever used on anything. HATED it.
Cleanser wasn't 5 stars, either...

This is nowhere near as good as MaMa was for acne. Both products should be available so we have a choice; M2 seems to work for some but MaMa worked for so many of us and now we have to find something to replace it.
So I had what I unlovingly referred to as a "freckle-stash", unwanted darkening of the skin on my upper lip (melasma) from taking the pill. It was soooo annoying! I couldn't even cover it with foundation! While searching the internet I came across this product. I hadn't tried anything with the malic or mandelic acids, so I thought I would try. Very skeptical and didn't expect it to work. I used the whole skin care line (including the body lotion which *hallelujah* works on my keritosis pilarisis-ridden arms!) and my skin definately looked nicer right away. It took some time to fade the melasma, but I can happily say that my "freckle-stash" is now a thing of the past. So happy! I LOVE this product line! Thank you M2!!!!!

I am now on bottle #2 of M2 20%
but can not get anything out of the bottle as pump does not seem to work. The same thing happened with bottle #1 which I traded in. Not to pleased with dispenser... have not tried lotion since it wont come out of the bottle.
I've used M2 skin refinish since December however I can honestly say the results were not visible until I started to exfoilate. M2 works but the process is very slow and gradual . I do prefer the mama lotion since the results were much quicker

I use MaMas lotion about 3yrs ago and had Excellent results!! dark spots from post acne gone, smaller pores etc...I recently bout the new M2 and have been using it for alittle over a month with minimal results??? when i use to use the old MaMas it would tingle a lil and a day or so after start to peel...I didnt mind because i knew it was working, but now i dont get any of that...im not sure if maybe my skin has become immune to it ??i still have faith in the product ,but just a lil disappointed that it hasnt had the same effect as before.
M2 is that rare thing in the cosmetic world- a product that really truly does what it promises to do. Actually, for me, it has been BETTER than advertised!
I mostly wanted it for slight acne scarring and significant sun damage. I have been using the product, once a day, for under a month. The hyperpigmentation from all causes is almost gone. I am not kidding. The most stubborn is proving to be the acne hyperpigmentation, but it too is rapidly fading.
I have *really* oily skin. I am probably one of the very few people who don't need a moisturizer with M2. It IS quite drying, but for me, that's great! I honestly cannot get over how effective this product is.
Also, a word about skincarerx: I broke the dispenser on the bottle of M2 and not only did they pleasantly send me a new bottle free, they sent me a label to return for free the bottle that *I* broke! I didn't use the label because I needed to return the moisturizer (like I said, 99% chance, anyone else WILL need the moisturizer), but that is what I call excellent customer service!
I've used this product mostly on nose and chin for pore reduction and breakouts along chin line. I have dry skin, so using it all over doesn't work - it dries my skin out too much. And the moisturizer isn't moisturizing enough for my face. Although my skin continues to peel on my nose and chin, I haven't noticed any help with pore size or chin breakouts. However, I've used it for the sun damage on my chest, and it has faded discoloration there and improved skin texture without any peeling. It is sticky - so I only use it at night. And the pump broke after two weeks of receiving it - so now I have to dig it out by hand - inconvenient. I will keep using it, just because it is the only exfoliant my skin seems to tolerate. Every week, I do put a very thin layer all over my face to act as a peel/exfoliant.
I have had melasma blotches on my forehead for decades. Tried OBAGI but grew tired of the regime after 4 months. I switched to M2 and saw results in about a month. Five months later...and NO more melasma!!

I used this for a month, and my skin loooked fabulous! It even got rid of the VERY stubborn dark spots. Very happy with this product! I used it at night, I think this is best for this product, it is stick.
For the money, this product delivers full value if not more. I had tried epionce for a year and it didn't quite solve my acne problem. This product starts working immediately. It's very important to use it sparingly and use it every other day for the first two months, otherwise you will end up with red patches that feel a little burned. The product goes on smoothly and is not sticky or greasy. It really cleared up my skin. I still use it, but I also now have purchased IS Active Serum (which is VERY expensive in comparison) and am alternating the two products. The moisturizer (M2) is good too as a complement to this product. The two work together to manage the bacteria which causes acne. Great value. Great product. Easy to use. Quick results.
I'm so disappointed with the "upgraded" version of Mama Lotion. The original formula worked wonders for me and wish the company would bring that back. I feel like I need to find another product again, as this is no longer my "holy grail." My husband calls me "sticky face" now - will no longer purchase :(

I tried the sample and ordered a full product the next day. I could see the difference after the 1st use. I've been suffering from acne for decades and have used Retin-A, Renova, Differen, Accutane and so many other products. This product does wonders for my skin and I just LOVE it!
This works OK, but it pales in comparison to the original MAMA Lotion which I used and loved. What is up with a product that NEVER seems to dry? It's sticky for the duration. Put it on before bed; your face will still be sticking to the pillow in the morning. I'm with most every reviewer here who used the original -- BRING IT BACK! Keep M2 for those who want it; add "M1" to your inventory. You'd sell more product!
Wonderful product, my skin glow after a week of use, no more acne even on time of the month, hyperpigmentation fading away and lines around my mouth disappearing like magic. OK, i have been using this serum since September of last year, my skin is greatly flawless now, i seen results the next day from using this serum along with the moisturizer , i do notice however i have to constantly use it to keep the glow and keep my skin even but besides that this is a serum and line of products that is excellent for any body with hyper pigmentation. When i first started using it my skin was peeling and i broke out a little bit but i am glad i am still using it now because my skin got used to it and it has never looked better!

Ii'm asian with very fair skin, i don't have pimples but i have tons of blackheads on my T-zone. I was amazed reading the good reviesw about m2 , i bought the 20% and started using it right away. It's been a week now and i'm so dissappointed coz i'm purging with blackheads and pimples now. I don't know if i should continue using it or just find somthing that would really deal with my concern which are.BLACKHEADS..
This is my 3rd bottle and I'm still impressed. I have the worst skin with wrinkles, acne and age spots and this serum every other night has taken care of everything. The best part is that it's safe to use while pregnant which tells me it's more natural than most products and works better than anything I've tried. Love it!
I was impressed enough w/ my sample to order the full size. It did not improve my lines or fade dark scars, but it faded my melasma and age spots faster than any product that I have ever used, including prescription bleaches. Also, I haven't had an outbreak of my adult acne since I started using this last summer. I was applying this product only twice a week for 6 mos, but still flaked heavily after each use. Then I discovered something that allowed me to use it every other night and never have any sloughing - raw, unrefined shea butter. I smooth it on my my face about 10 min. after the M2. The shea butter feels greasy, but it has never caused any acne and my face is actually very hydrated and plumper the next morning.
I am afro-american, 37 female. I moved to AZ and developed sun spots and had some scarring bc I broke out in a rash and "picked" at the marks and left a lot of dark marks.

I guess I have sensitive skin because this product dried me out, increased the appearance of wrinkles and made my face red and irritated. I bought the 12% and it works much better.
I used the original MaMa lotion and had very good results with it. My skin was finally starting to look better after many years of trying to find something that worked. I purchased this new product thinking I would have the same results with it but I am VERY disappointed with the new formula. My skin is starting to break out again and does not look or feel the same as it did when I used the original MaMa lotion. I will not be purchasing this new formula. Please bring back the original formula!
I was excited to use this product but it caused scattered pimples everytime I used it. I have aging but still breaking out skin that I keep under control with Epionce products. Hoping this would help smooth and clear things up but not for me. SA recommended using less product.
Received a small sample of this product in an order for other beauty products. I just ordered more! I must be the only person who loves the sticky feeling! It feels like that's what makes it work. My skin feels tighter and smoother. I used emergin C forte 20% until they changed their formula.It now absorbs quickly and shows no results Thrilled to find something that works comparably and at nearly 1/2 the price.
I am 41. I have light to med acne scarring that my husband says you can't see... I also have rosacea that is usually under control. Other than that, I have sensitive skin. I rarely have acne and I am usually dry. (Three cheers for Accutane 12 years ago. It changed oily skin with cystic acne to I hardly ever break out, dry skin. If you have severe acne, its worth harassing your dermatologist about.) My skin has always been sensitive. I cannot use retinoids and such.
I had irritation with this system, cleanser, refinish and moisturize. I had to figure out which product was doing it so I just started using the cleanser alone. Not good. Burn patches on my face about a week later. So I completely discontinued us. Thought about sending it back but since I did see smoothing in the beginning, I have started again.
I use the cleanser once a day only in AM. I follow with moisturizer in the AM.
I have not resumed the refinish.
At night I wash with Basic Vitamin bar soap. I moisturize with Jason's Vitamin E moisturizer.
I will probably keep this cycle going and add the refinish once every 3-4 days. This way, the skin gets the benefit of the product and the benefit of the healing from the Vitamin E.
Maybe should have called a consultant on this... I think I will be okay.
I recommend the product (all 3) for purchase, but if you have sensitive skin, don't be mislead by this being "gentle". It is still an acid product. Always, always use a moisturizer with this, even if you are just using the cleanser. I think this is where I went wrong. I thought the moisturizer was too sticky (it is if you use too much) so I slacked off on it. 1 burnt face later. Totally my fault. I thought the acid concentration in the cleanser was low (it isn't), plus the fact that you rinse it right off and that precluded a super necessity for a moisturizer. Not the case.
Will review again in about a year since I think it is going to take at least that long to see scar results.
However, I fell in the middle of the night a few months ago and split the bridge of my nose open. They superglued the skin back together and I received this product right about the time the scar closed. Although I haven't been diligent every day with it, I do think M2 has had a positive impact on how this scar healed. I think continued use with Mederma and Vit E/shark oil will fade it almost completely.
I am one of those people who've tried EVERYTHING for my hormonal acne-- from harsh antibiotics and chemical peels to all-natural food-based stuff like honey masks (FYI, always err on the side of natural, it's better than any expensive chemical!). This is the real deal--literally I've only used it 3 times since it arrived last week, and even in unforgiving natural daylight, there is an intense improvement in my skintone (evening out dramatically), texture (those tiny annoying bumps are shrinking and disappearing), NO NEW BREAKOUTS which is unbelievable for me. I have been using M2 products for about two months now, and the improvement in my skin is noticable. I have no more adult acne, and my hyperpigmentation is dramatically reduced (finally!). I have never received so many compliments on my skin, and highly recommend this skin care line
This is really working for me. I love it. Might make your skin really dry at the start but after about three weeks of using it, your skin gets use to it. My face is glowing now and i get compliments every day from friends.

I've been using M2 HP Skin Refinish for a month, now, and my skin is thanking me. My acne has all but disappeared (which I've struggled with for nearly twenty years--since my teens), discolorations are fading, pores are shrinking, and skin is glowing. Absolutely amazing. I love this product. I have been using it for 8 months and I can say that the discolorations I had from acne scars when I was younger are completely gone. I alternate this with murad acne exfoliating gel and I have beautiful skin now. I will be turning 42 and I have been told that I look the same as when I was in my 20's which makes me feel great! I have been using this product along with the Exfoliating Cleanser and Recovery Moisturizer for about a week now. I noticed a difference the first morning. I have had problems with acne and Resaca for over 20 years. I have tried lots of other products but have never had success like I have had with this product! My acne has already cleared up dramatically and those hard little bumps under my skin are gone. The texture of my skin is softer and smoother and has a more even skin tone. The key is USE SUNSCREEN. If you don't, you'll wind up with even more discoloration, and the spots you have already will simply darken more. Sunscreen is absolutely necessary! I cannot stress this enough. My advice is to get some Sunforgettable (also available on this site). It's easy to apply (albeit expensive), and it works.

o.k so i have been reading the reviews for the serum for about 2 weeks before i bought it and when i did was not so sure if it would work for me becuase my skin has darkened from using ambi. However i slathered the serum on , followed by the mosturizer and the next morning seen a result.It has been about a week and a half now and im still seeing progressive results. It says to use it every other day but i used it everyday , hence that my face is peeling, but besides that i love this product . It's amazing!
I've been using the M2 Skin Refinish serum and the M2 Skin recovery moisturiser for about a week and find that my face glows and my skin felt smooth . As for the hyperpigmentated skin still not yet lighten. I will try for six months and see what's the results and will send my feedback again.

I bought this product to help control my acne but it's only doing a moderate job of clearing up my acne. Also, my facial skin remains oily. I was forced to buy it because the makers of MaMa Lotion decided to change their formulation. MaMa Lotion worked wonders for me. I wish they wouldv'e just stuck to what worked.
I’ve been using the M2 Skin Refinish for about 3 months now and I have to say I’ve seen wonderful results. My skin took about 2 months to adjust and stop peeling, but I stuck it out and am so glad I did. I recently began using the M2 Skin Recovery Moisturizer (love it!), alternate nights with the Skin Refinish, and have seen even better results (no peeling, no dry skin at all). My mild acne has all but disappeared, my clogged pores are so much more manageable and smaller, I’ve noticed a slight smoothing of fine lines, and my skin tone has greatly evened out. My only complaint is about the sticky feeling the Skin Refinish leaves on my skin, but this is a minor thing considering how much better my skin looks!
This new formula never dries! The original MaMa lotion was sticky/tacky for a few minutes, but it would always dry. I put some M2 on some dark spots on my arm in the morning and it stayed tacky all day. And my pillowcase? YUCK. The new additives in this formula would be better for a very strong (40-50%), short-term treatment, perhaps 15 to 20 minutes, which you'd then wash off. I'm going to return the product and look elsewhere for a supply of MaMa lotion.
This serum produces visible results in just 3 days. It whitened out the dark spots from acne and also tightned pores on my nose. Blackheads are almost gone! Skin tone also improved. No break outs even during pms. Make sure you do not apply it around your lips. It tastes awful. Of course no husband or bf will ever like this on your face, but beauty is sacrifies!
Sorry, but this does NOT work as well as the original. My skin itched, turned red and broke out after using this for a few days. I started using just the original MaMa lotion, and everything cleared up. I tried this about three or four times and finally gave up. PLEASE bring back the original formula for those of us who need it!!
I received a sample of this and decided to give it a try not knowing how it actually help darker skin and I did not know NOT to use it every day either. So, I was using it twice a day for three days and my skin texture was amazing. I noticed that it dried out my acne especially on my chin area and the acne scars just seemed to look lighter. Yes, after the third use (twicw a dy) my face started to sting. Now I am reading the "how to use it" on-line and know that it should be used ONCE every other NIGHT. This product line is a KEEPER. It is wonderful! I'm buying the whole line.
I used this product till it ran out. It worked well to decrease my acne but didn't completely remove it. It also did not do so well with the old dark spots left behind. Also, it stung like crazy for a few seconds each time after application. Dont think i'll stick to this line.
it feels like it doesn't penetrate into my skin, or should i say it penetrate too slowly. i guess that's why this product actually ask you to wait 15m before you apply any other moisturizer, i just started using it, so the effects like even skin tone or reduce blemish hasn't show yet, but i will keep trying.
I've been using this for about a couple of weeks. It definitely is sticky, but I notice my complexion is alot smoother, and My pores on the sides of my nose/cheeks are definitely less visibile. The forehead between my eyebrows is slowly fading. No progress yet on my scars here and there but so far I will definitely keep this product in my skin care regime.

ive been using it for a week now. it is sticky, tastes bad and my boyfriend says it smells the same as mama lotion. he says its like some kind of chemicals.. my face seems brighter the blemishes seem lighter. im not sure if its to early to see a difference tho or if my mind is playing with me because i want to see results. my pores still look the same. i also use differin gel with this but just rotate them each night... i will definitly keep posting my review later after ive been using it a little longer. so far i am somewhat pleased i guess.....
I think this stuff rocks.. I have noticed huge control of my constant breakouts and most people are now surprised when I tell them I have acne. It is a bit sticky but worth it and definitely not tasty if it gets on your lips but you know what if I am too lazy to wash my face at night ( Guy so no makeup) I just put two pumps of this on and I am not an oily breakout mess when I wake up. GOOD JUICE
M2 worked great for my acne and skin texture, however I have not seen results with my brown spots yet. I have been able to use every night without any drying or flaking.
My wife uses this and is quite happy with it. I don't like it though. It does have a smell, like old preserved flowers, and is sticky on her face. It is not a seductive feeling.
i had tried a sample of this stuff before when it was called mama lotion.it seemed to work pretty good for the short time i used it. the only thing my boyfriend always complained of the smell. has anyone else complained or noticed that???? i just bought the new m2 and am going to use ot tonight. i hope i get better result without the smell..
i purchased this product due to all the great reviews i hoped for control of acne issues resolution to acne scars and fading of brown spots. it does calm break outs and the length of time it takes to rid yourself of a pimple but the rest is nonsense, i haven't seen this miracle alixir do much more then burn my skin and cause problems to skin discoloration
I've tried many different products for my melasma. This is one of the effective products. However, I don't like using it because it's so sticky. I only use it at night but I feel my face sticking to the pillow case even if I go to bed hours after I've put this on. Needless to say I have not been able to use anything else (e.g. moisturizer) on top. I will probably move on to some other product.
I was so excited to recieve M2 because Mamma Lotion had worked so well for me. I read the comments and everyone was saying how it was just like the Momma Lotion only better. Well I decided to try it and was so disappointed. My acne actually became more and now I have all these spots in my face from the acne. i bought my sister a bottle too and the same thing happened to her. I just can't believe this happened. I was so impressed by the Momma Lotion that I just knew this would be an upgrade but it was not. I think I am going to try Momma Lotion again to see if it clears up what the M2 did.
I have a few scars and patches on my skin from acne that I used pick at in my teens. These are dark colored, noticeable scars that I try to hide with concealer and make-up. Since I had 3 small, sample tubes of the skin refinish I decided to try it. I applied it only to the skin areas that have the discoloration and only every other day; Now, it's nearly a month later and the scars seem to be slowly fading. I'm sure in another 2-3 months, they could be gone completely. One drawback is the flaky, red skin and occasional "itchy" feeling I get. I don't want to scratch my skin and cause more scars! But overall, I like this product.
The pump went bad/got clogged immediately. It was such a pain to use and the times I did use it, I noticed no difference at all with my skin. I ended-up just throwing it out. Won't buy again and don't recommend wasting the moey.
I have struggle with melasma for years. I've tried all kinds of things and had it pretty much under control, but in the last several months, it got VERY bad. I felt like people were looking at me and seeing my darks spots instead of my face. I was desperate to find something that worked and decided to try this. I LOVE IT. I noticed a difference after using it for just one week. It's been about a month now, and my skin isn't perfect, but it's SO much better. I used to have to wear very heavy makeup to cover up the dark spots, and now my skin looks fine with just a light powder. I've been using this with the PCA Skin (pHaze 13) Pigment Gel and would suggest using them together (although not at the same time, just alternate applications). I did experience some peeling and still do, but it's not severe, and I actually kind of like it--makes me feel like it's working. And for the price, you really can't beat it. I've wasted so much money on things that have done absolutely nothing. If you're looking for something that will change your skin, try this!!!
I have been using M2 for only a few days and I am very happy with the texture of my skin. I am a fair red-head with freckles that I acquired at an early age. My fine lines seem to be reduced and it does a nice job of exfoliating. The pump bottles and jars are great too--easy to dispense without worrying about contaminating the contents.
I tried MaMa in the past and could use it because the fragrance and harsh ingredients (parabens, polyacrylamide) irritated me so upon the recommendation of my esthetician I tried the M2 line (same makers as the mama). It worked fantastic! I was able to use the HP skin refinish and saw amazing results on my downright messy face (you name it, i've got it). If you're looking for the same results, but don't want the irritation, I would suggest trying the M2 instead of mama lotion.

I ordered this product earlier this year, and I have to say that it is a wonderful product. I am a 25 yr old African American woman and I have suffered with acne brown spots, acne scarring, or hyperpigmentation... whatever you want to call it.... all my teenage years up until now. I have a beautiful brown color tone, that naturally glows especially in the summer, but have alway suffered from scarring on my face and lower back. I pay better attention to the health of my skin overall now and I don't go overboard with trying products, if I use it and it works wonderfully I stick to it. I used this product with my Proactive. This stuff tightened my skin, made my skin smoother to where when I do wear make up it looks flawless, and my some of my spots have completely gone, while others are fading wonderfully. At first it burned my skin because I wasn't using a moisterizer, so I stopped use for a week, went back to it used a moisterizer, iand my skin would peel which is actually great because its just peeling away the ugly layers of your skin makeing way for more beatiful skin underneath, then I ordered a green tea mosterizer from ProActive and its a better moisterizer and more heavier but not on your skin, but it worked awesome with MaMa. YOU HAVE TO USE A REALLY GOOD MOISTERIZER THAT WON"T CLOG YOUR PORES, THATS HEAVY IN MOISTERIZING BUT LIGHT AND NON GREASY ON YOUR FACE!!! TIP: DONT RUB YOUR MOISTERIZER IN... JUST APPLY OVER THE MaMa & LET IT SIT AND SETTLE & OBSORB ITSELF W/MaMa. I'm not embarrassed to wear my plain face around my man because its not that bad anymore. I see that now I only get a bump or two when I am PMS'n..ugh.. but any other time my face has no break outs anymore which allows my face to heal more. Everyone wont be able to use this product, and it won't work for everyone, thats just the nature of products overall but its well worth a try, and statistically if you looked at these reviews seems like majority of people here love it just as well as I do. I eat healthier now for 4 months and my skin has changed, I drink nothing but water, I take vitamins, I exfoliate my skin from head to toe once a week, I power walk which makes me sweat (sweating works wonders for your skin and pores as well as let you know your burning calories), and when I find a good health & beauty product I stick to it like MaMa, Proactive!

I came back to look at the product and am surprised to find out how affordable it is. I ordered the m2 face & body collection and am excited to try it all (the skin on my body needs major work too).
WAY BETTER! I tried M2 for a month and was disappointed because there was no exfoliation process, or at least not a noticeable one. I don't like to peel either but if a product doesn't make you flake, the brown spots are not going away. I order up a new batch of MaMa and I'm back in business again. I rarely write reviews but just wanted to let people know not to get sucked into this line just because it comes with other products. I thought it would be better, too but I was wrong. Stick to MaMa.
this was a total waste o fmy hard earned money.I would not recommend this to anyone. this lotion leaves your face really dry even if you follow the directions to a T. No visible results after using the entire bottle. I have normal skin; light brown complexion.
I had been using Mama lotion for over a year with great results. However, I thought that this product would be just as good if not better. Unfortunately, it caused me to start breaking out again and really seemed to clog my pores. I was very disappointed. Needless to say, I sent this back and placed an order for "old faithful".
I had been using this for over year with wonderful results. However, I tried the M2 skin refinish thinking it would be as good if not better. I was wrong. Unfortunately, it clogged my pores and made me breakout. It was very disappointing considering the progress I had made using the Mama lotion. As a matter a fact, I started using the sample of Mama lotion waiting to get my order and noticed a difference within a 2 days. I love this stuff and have learned my lesson. For me, the original is the best.
have used this stuff head to toe and love it all over. It took away reds and purples from stretch marks on my body helps me control my acne and keeps my skin feeling smooth and tight. I had used the MAMA lotion before but MCK removed the parpabens and fragrance to make this product a home run. Better than proactive on Acne and did what Strivectin promotes it can do on stretch marks.

I am Chinese, at my late forty, with very fair and sensitive skin. I have had melasma on my cheeks for about 10 years. I have two children, and I understand that these are pregnancy marks and may be a result of contraceptive pills. I had tried Eldoquin 4%, Tretinoin for a few years, and recently Meladerm cream for 2 months. I always use sun protection of at least SPF 30. Hoping to cure melasma internally, I have stopped using contraceptive pills for about 6 months. I did not like this product at all. At first, it seemed to work a little, but the results were rather minimal. There are far more effective alpha hydroxy products on the market. Compared to a glycolic acid product, this did little to smooth and even my skin. I also disliked the tacky/gunky formulation, which made the product difficult to use with other skin care treatments.
I received my very first bottle of Mama Lotion exactly one week ago (April 7, 2009) and I am impressed! All I keep thinking is why this product doesn't have an infomercial like Proactiv? I have tried everything from microdermabrasion to just about every acne product on the market...nothing seemed to work for me...until now! I can honestly say that Mama Lotion works! In only one week, I already see and feel a difference in my skin. It took about 3 days for me to start seeing results. While this product doesn't lighten your skin, it does cause dead skin cells to peel away. Once the dead skin falls off, you are left with a smooth, fresh layer of skin underneath. I started to see some of the most recent dark spots disappear within 4 days. Some of the older dark spots which I've had for years will no doubt take longer to go away but I'm confident that if I keep using the product they WILL GO AWAY! I have never reviewed a product before but I felt compelled to review this one to share my testimony. Although it's only been a week, I know there will be more testimonies to come. I'm curious to compare my before picture with the one I plan to take next month. The only things I will say about the product is to wash your hands after applying it. If you don't wash the Mama Lotion off your hands, you will start to see the skin on your hands peel...trust me this happened to me. Also, there will be some slight peeling so be sure to use some type of exfoliant in conjuction with the product. I find the exfoliant helps to remove the dead skin faster. Lastly, I find the product to be a bit sticky. Therefore, I only use it close to bedtime when I know I'm not going anywhere else for the evening. Overall, this is a great product and I look forward to seeing more results soon!
this worked incredibly on my melasma. it faded quite nicely in a short amount of time. It did peel and tingle a bit, but that's to be expected with any product that actually does something
I reviewed this product positively after one month of use. I have now been using it 6 months and wow, I really am pleased. My skin feels great and much less oily. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I haven't had any major breakouts for several months. I occassionally look in the mirror and I am amazed that this is my skin. Those who have battled their skin for years will appreciate this product. It worked for me.
MaMa lotion worked well on my post-acne hyperpigmentation, sun spots & melasma. Yes, my face was a mess. About half-way through the bottle, I began to use a facial scrub before applying the lotion. This accelerated the results without causing irritation. Just ordered a second bottle.
I have always struggled to shrink the pores on my nose.. I am 45 and have tried ALOT of products.. Thank YOU SO MUCH for sending the sample.. I can't believe HOW MUCH THEY SHRUNK... I love the skin on my nose!!! LOL If you have large pores I would suggest trying this product FIRST!.. My skin is awesome looking too.. I keep lookng at it as if it will somehow change.. I am a 36 of asian descent. I have melasma, roughness, very sensitive skin and large pores. I have tried the glycolics, 4% hydroquininone, retinols and everything under the sun in lightening agents for the duration needed to work. Nothing changed and i continued to notice darkening of my skin. Frustrating!! I tried M2 skin refinish and noticed a difference after the first night. Glycolics were very harsh on my skin and the combination of M2 acids are gentle but tough enough to slough!! I love it. I will continue to use it and hope for more results.
I have occasional flare ups of acne and use this as a spot treatment. I'm on my 3rd bottle and absolutely swear by it. It takes the inflammation down, and kills the zit quickly. Make the redness go away too.
I received a tiny tube of this as a sample after I purchaed another item on this site. I used it once a day, for sveral days (until the tube ran out), and was amazed at how well it worked. My skin is MUCH smoother, softer, and I have noticed a definite reduction in the fine lines around my eyes in the month or so I have been using it. Friends have recently asked me what I use on my face and that my skin looks really good. I would highly recommend this product. I have never noticed such a dramatic and quick change in my skin with any other product. The only negative is that sometimes when I apply it a little will end up on my lips, and it tastes absolutely horrible. As some other reviewers say, it is also kind of sticky, so I always have to wash my hands right after I apply it, but the results are so positive, I figure it is a small price to pay.
I like this lotion quite a bit. I have adult acne. It seems to help with it, but is no cure. It seems like my skin builds up a tolerence to it, and I have to quit using for awhile and then begin using again to get results. For everyone complaining about the dispenser, I had that problem too. If you store your bottle upside down and dispense it that way too it will work. For some reason the pump doesn't have a tube that goes to the bottom of the bottle. I found this out after having several bottles and always having to take them apart to get the lotion out. Storing it this way also seems to help it not get clogged up. Hope this helps!
I have pigmentation on the sides of my lower chin and sparsely on my cheeks. I also have enlarged pores on my nose. I got this product after getting a sample of the M2 lotion which totally reduced the pores on my nose. I was really hoping for it to clear the blotchiness of my skin, but unfortunately it didn't. I have been using it diligently for almost over two months, yet it hasn't cleared my skin one bit--the pigmentation sort of got worse. I wouldn't say don't buy this product, but that's my experience with it. I'm still using it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
I started using it last year and I am almost done with my first bottle, can't wait to order this again. It works very well on my skin and I have to say that I turned 50 years old last September and don't have any wrinkles on my face.
This has beautiful yet potentially defective packaging. I've purchased one bottle each from two different online stores, and each bottle was defective. Each at first dispensed properly, but then stopped, and I haven't been able to restart either, despite all the tapping I was advised to do to "prime" it. I'd tell anyone to not buy this product, since there are similarly acting and effective substitutes. During the time that I used it, I thought that it was a good exfoliating lotion. It caused some excessive peeling at first, but that stopped when I applied a light moisturizer over it twenty minutes after application. This lotion helped speed the disappearance of acne scars and make my skin appear more even in pigmentation. I was annoyed by the lotion's stickiness, but that was lessened by the combination with lotion. Overall, this a good exfoliating lotion, but I'll never buy it again because the pleasure of using the beautiful dispenser was lost when I had to transfer it to another container and because other less sticky products are equally effective. The relatively high cost for all this frustration was the deciding factor.
I have been combining Revaleskin (with Coffeeberry) and the Mama Lotion in the same application twice a week in the evening. I have been able to tolerate the Mama Lotion much better! My skin feels soft, smooth, less blotchy, and more moisturized. Best of all, I know that I am protecting myself from future skin damage due to the High anti-oxidant level in the Coffeeberry.
I have been using more expensive skin care for a long time and due to recent downturns made the switch to M2 on a recommendation from a friend. WOW I think this stuff is great and I have comb oily skin and it is a bit sticky but is not bad at all and I use 3-4 pumps on my face. I love what it has done for my acne prone skin and I feel that it has changed the brightness of my skin as well. I am afraid my expensive friends lost their place in my bathroom.

I found this product online while conducting a search for products to help my melasma. I have been using MaMa Lotion for a month now and my melasma spots are almost gone from my cheeks and very light on my forehead (forehead being the largest and first area to start melasma). My pores are tiny. I too noticed some acne "purging" in the beginning, but keep up with the lotion...the purging is temporary and only brings stuff to the surface. I have been using it every other day since I got it. I use it at night and after I put it on, I immediately put my Neutrogena Anti-Oxidant Age Reverse Night Cream. I have only noticed a little bit of flaking, nothing too noticeable to others and it is true if you have darker areas this will flake off to reveal smooth even skin underneath. It's IMPERATIVE that you wear sunscreen during the day when using this product (I use Neutrogena Age Shield Face SPF 70) as it will make your face more photo sensitive. Also make sure to wear a big hat to cover your face as well. If you don't, your melasma spots will come right back and you are back to square one. Oh, and I also have noticed my wrinkles are erasing too by using MaMa Lotion ! It started working 1 week into use...I saw a friend that told me my face looked very even and great....something every melasma sufferer hopes to hear ! I shared the MaMa Lotion with her. I too hope they keep making this product. Lastly, the price is not bad considering how long the bottle will last you.
This stuff is wonderful!! It hasn't made my skin peel on my face too much, but I am starting to see vibrance & my actual skin color. I am African American- light skinned and it is soo awful to have brown spots on your face, back, chest. I am giving a 5 because I had a scar from 1 bump that scarred, as I tried to remove the dead skin myself... it was very dark brown & someone commented it looked like a 3rd nipple!! Pretty embarrassing!! I used mama for 2 days after I got it.. the brown dead skin started to slough off!! After 3 days it is a little red around the area, but it is no longer raised, dark! I can see my skin now!! I am soo relieved & grateful, now in another two weeks I will probably have clear skin on my face and scar will be gone! I am using this with PCA and my skin is soft and hopefully will continue to get better. I have hyperpigmentation and acne so I now feel I have the tools to combat both! I used Murad before, still brokeout and kept using product to clear up the bumps!! Also try Benzaclin which is Benzoyl peroxide, and erthymyocin(antibacterial).
If you have:(a)cystic acne where they are painful and take a month to go away(b)get blue, black or brown acne scars from pimples (hyperpigmentation) when not even picking at them(c)uneven skin tone(d)tried ever product out there and even proactive didn't work,been to the dermatologist and on the pill...USE THIS PRODUCT..I am personally all of those things. I went to Hawaii 6 yrs ago and ruined my skintone due to mixing otc products and the cause of the sun..I started using Mama lotion since October 08. I am still working at my acne scars but they fade faster than using lemon juice or coco butter..I do still get acne during my hormonal times but the cystic acne does not take half my face, not painful and pop-able after two days. I still scar but mama lotion fades it out in about two weeks..My suggestion is to exfoliate well, apply mama lotion and always apply SPF. I apply mama lotion twice a day. Please remember every skin is different test mama lotion before applying all over your face...
Can't tell if I like the product or not. Can't get it to come out of the despenser. Have to take off the cap and try to get some out that way. Too much of a pain, so don't use it
When I get acne scars the red seems to last FOREVER. I saw this product on an ad and decided to give it a try. After just a couple days of using it I noticed significant improvement in the rendess of my acne scars. Also, I broke out a bit at first but then haven't had any new breakouts since.

I have been using MaMa lotion for several months when I seen that M2 was coming out. I ordered the cleaner and HP skin refinisher. After several weeks I have what seems to be cystic acne and my skin looks absolutely horrible. I am 35 years old and have acne my entire life and the only real thing that has helped has been noxzema, clearasil and MaMa lotion. The moral is that the newer product isnt always the best. I will go back to using MaMa.
I really like Mama lotion. I use it every other night. It has smoothed out my skin and evened my skin tone. I am 37 and used to put baby oil on my face..yuck. I have been to the dermatologist for chemical peels..which I love. I get about 2 a year and they make my skin baby smooth. This lotion is great to use in between.
To the reviewer who says it's the same as Mama Lotion. Read the ingredients. M2 doesn't have parabens and the formula is a little different. I have used both and M2 is much better at reducing breakouts and it doesn't make my skin peel like mama did.
I had some sun damage on my chest from years of running and had a plastic surgeon look at it and he wanted $3000 to do lazer on it. I got a sample of the new M2 and put that on my chest and in 2 weeks I could not believe the difference. Not only does the texture of my skin feel better a lot of the uneven color improved. Great stuff.
I bought MaMa Lotion in late May and tried it. With oily skin I didn't use moisturizer with it. I didn't seem to get results. I tried it again a month ago, using it every other day with moisturizer and I have noticed a real improvement in my skin. I think the moisturizer is the key. My skin is smoother and less oily. My coloring is more even as well. I have been using it just over a month and I'm happy with the results.
I used this product as instructed for several months; my skin was quite irritated and broke out. I kept using it as I'd read this was a temporary side effect but it never got better even when I decreased the frequency of use. I'm trying the M2 moisturizer now as an alternative but wonder if the malic/mandelic acid products aren't for me. I'm surprised this is such a great seller.
I am on my second bottle of skin refinish and it is doing an ok job of resurfacing my uneven skin tone. However, it goes on really thick and seems to be clogging my pores more so than other acid treatments I have tried. I would recommend this only if your skin is too sensitive for glycolic acid treatments.
I think the review below is spam because both lotions feel exactly the same, still really sticky. The face wash is average. The moisturizer is light and absorbs quickly, but lacks spf. I will say that the line is a good value, $90 for a months supply.
I've used MaMa for two years and purchased the full kit when I saw it in SkinCareRx's catalogue. Now that i've used it for over a month I absolutely love the changes they made to the formula. I like that they removed parabens, polyacrylamide, and added the new ingredients. It doesn't break me out as much as mama used to. The texture and the smell are better as well.
My allergies are so extensive, yet this lotion is one I can use. It has erased much of the damage from 28 yrs sun. Immediately some of my darkest spots lightened and were half gone in 1 month. I have light olive skin. i bought this lotion to fade a few sun spots on my face. Now all my face has been so dark I can't recognize my own face at the mirror.There is no warning signs on the bottle. I am completely freaked out about my appearance I dfon't know what to do. The explanation an this website-which is hidden under anotther link- tell nothing about if tis condition is permanent or not. No suggestion how to fix this problem. It should ne banned to be sold the way it has been sold.I am considering filing a compliment against this product and this website.
This is exactly the same as MaMa, but it's the same price so you might as well get this because the pump is handy. It seems to do an average job of resurfacing my skin, however the product feels sticky and requires almost an hour to fully soak in.
I have been battling with acne for 10 years now and I have used and wasted a million products already. I have oily-combination skin. After so many trials and disappointments, I have found the products that have worked for me. I use proactive cleanser at night and Obagi cleansing gel in the am, obagi toner to exfoliate, and use alternately Obagi clear and MaMa lotion. My routine has worked wonders for me. My acne scars have faded in a month and my pores appear smaller. Mama lotion must have been the most reviewed product here. It is because it works. You have nothing to lose and a lot to gain.
I got a little sample of this when I ordered a facial cleanser and ever since then I have been hooked. I now have NO acne whatsoever, my melasma is disappearing (it was pretty bad) and using it doesnt make it worse with my sun exposure (I surf 4-5 times a week). My skin does get a little sensitive sometimes with the salt water and wind, but overall mama lotion has improved my skin 10x better than any other product Ive used. I have been using MaMa Lotion for about 1 year now, and the change to my skin has been drastic. I have fair, sensitive skin, and the acne I have dealt with for years had left dark reddish-brown discolorations and scars all over my face. Now, one year later, most of the discolorations have disappeared, and when I get new breakouts they clear up quickly without leaving scars or red spots. I use MaMa Lotion every other evening, gently exfoliate with a warm cloth in the morning, and of course follow with a good moisturizer. On alternate evenings I use other acne products on my skin, and as long as I exfoliate in the morning and use that moisturizer, I don't have any problems with flaky or dry skin.
I just ordered this product after reading an hours worth of reviews. I'm very nervous and very hopeful that this is the product that will finally work on my horrible acne scars. I am very light complected and every pimple leaves a nasty red scar whether I pick them or not. I'm tired of having to cake on make up everyday to try and hide the scars and tired of waking up almost daily with a new blemish. Anyways, the part I was wondering about is if this product can be used in conjunction with other systems. I have recently started using Proactiv to try and stop the breakouts but wanted an additional product such as this one to take care of the scarring...Does anyone know if mixing the two is a bad idea?? I found this product to have no better results than other acid products I have tried. However, it did feel stickier than most, reminded me of syrup. I had really hoped MaMa would work better as it is a very reasonable price for the treatment. I will have to go back to LaPrarie Retexturizing Booster, although 3x the price :/

I tried this product hoping it would do great things for my acne. I have to say it works very well. Effects took a little longer than i had thought they would but all in all a great product. within three to four days my face was alot better.
I am 56 years old and have had skin problems since I was about 12 years old. My review is very similar to one written by a 57 year old person. I have very oily/combination skin, ongoing acne and scarring as a result of my many years of acne. I, too, have received acne treatment from dermatologists, acid peels, used many prescription and non prescription products. None of these methods or products have worked--I actually had become very frustrated and somewhat depressed that I could not find a product that worked for my skin. I read the reviews for the MaMa lotion and figured I didn't have anything to lose by trying it. I have been using the MaMa Lotion and related products for almost a month; in less than a week, I could see a dramatic difference. During the first week various individuals in my office commented how great I looked, or they couldn't figure out what was so different about me--I glow!!!! I have acne scars, large pores, and uneven skin tone, and this product has literally transformed my face! I LOVE IT!!! I now wish that I had taken a before and after picture--really, I can now put my make up on in the morning and my face looks great throughout the day. This morning I had someone tell me that I looked like I was 35. Yes, this product not only helps clear your complexion but it firms and literally erases the lines and wrinkles--I look years younger!! My 25 year old daughter was very skeptical and now she is using it, so I am ordering more today. Please note that I did experience some peeling but it is well worth it (my daughter doesn't like the peeling but who cares if your complexion gets clear). My make up looks super, and my face glows. I have been reading the reviews for months and was afraid to purchase this product; I finally decide to when nothing else works; I was waiting for a month before I write a review, but I couldn't wait,it's now three weeks; this product is the best ever; I was using acne medication the doctor prescribe and I stop using it after I see how this product works; I haven't broke out since like I use to , I also use to broke out using the acne medication; my acne scares are getting lighter and my skin texture is much better; I don't have to use foundation anymore, I only use a light amount of power which is good enough to hide the scars, that's how light my scars got. Using a good moisture is also very important and using a good amount to prevent you looking dry or peeling, is also important. I will be using this product for a long time.
I've had Mama sitting on my counter for years. I use a lot of other products, but I always go back to Mama and my first comment is always how much I love it! I use it for pigmentation mostly. Now that summer is almost over I will probably use it more. One day in the sun, even with sunblock will set you back! Love it for spot treating an occaisional breakout. PS, if it feels sticky, you have used too much! Pea size is plenty. If your skin feels sensitive, use it after your moisturizer. Don't forget your Sunscreen!
I tried this product after hearing about it from a friend at work. I was skeptical at first after trying many products out there. I didn't see immediate results but I saw amazing results after a few months. My dark spots from acne picking are clearing up, much lighter, and I can wear less heavy makeup. What a godsend. I'm hoping that within the next year I can leave the house without makeup. After suffering for over 30 years with extremely bad acne, I can wait a few more months for lasting results. The only reason I didn't rate the product a 5 is because I don't like that the dispenser clogs so easily and it is very difficult to unclog. If they could fix that, this would be a product from the heavens!
I had been using mama lotion for a while when I went to a spa for a facial. The spa personnel giving me the facial looked at my face under a special light and said "I don't understand it you have absolutely no sun damage, and you have lived in Florida for 26 years?" I do have some sun damage on my neck and chest but the mama lotion has made a significant improvement in my face. I brought the mama lotion to the spa because they were all curious about it. Recently I have been using mama lotion on my husband who has brown spots and he is the most skeptical person around. Now he does admit that mama lotion really works and he likes using it. It has taken years off his appearance. I am so happy with this product and will use it forever.
I received a sample with my last order and was looking forward to trying it after reading all the rave reviews. Alas, it made my skin itch (not burn) to the point that I needed to put Benadryl lotion on it. I tried it twice, spacing out the days, to be certain that was the cause, and the same thing happened. I have been using Nucelle's Mandelic Acid products for years with no problems, so it must be something else in the formulation that is causing my skin to react. I do not have especially sensitive skin, so was surprised and disappointed at this reaction. I am a 61 year old Caucasian female and get very occasional acne, which is well controlled with the alpha hydroxy acids and Retin-A (which is prescription only, not Retinol, which can be purchased without a prescription).
This is fantastic for keeping skin clear and undoing sun damage. I have fine textured skin with freckles and a few age spots. I have the occasional breakout also and this helps with everything! It has reduced my fine lines and I am highly satisfied. My husband and I run a medispa and I could use anything I wanted but this works gently but effectively. Ladies do not hesitate to add this to your nightly skin care a couple of times per week.

I used it for a month hoping to see change. It didn't see anything. I didn't like the sticky feel of it and my husband didn't like the smell. I bought into the great reviews and was disappointed. I have a full bottle I bought for my hubby for Christmas that I guess I will re-gift. LOL
I am an African American with sensitive, oily skin. I am 49 years old. MaMa lotion has worked so well. The texture of my skin has improved with just two weeks of use. I think that this is one of the best kept secrets. My daughter in Dallas, Texas turned me on to this incredible product. Not only does my skin look clearer, but it is less oily and more radiant. As some reviewers indicated, I too experience some tingling when first applied, but it subsides very quickly.

This Product is the BEST Product I have ever USED!
I am 57 years old and have had skin problems since I was about 14 years old. I have very oily skin, white heads, black heads, etc. I have been to many skin doctors, used many prescription and non prescription products. I have been to many skin clinics and have had many expensive facials. None of these methods or products have worked. I found this web site (SkinCareRX) looking for Retin-A. I used the Green Creams and Retin-A for about 3 months and was looking for some stronger Retin-A Gel when someone at SkinCareRX recommended the MaMa Lotion to me. I at first didn't take the recommendation and continued another month on Retin-A without really the results I thought I should get. Therefore I decided to try this MaMa Lotion. What a great product. When I woke up in the morning my skin didn't feel oily as it usually does. My skin is such that I am able to use this product every night. After a week using this product my skin starting feeling smoother. I have been using this product for about 6 weeks now and have not had any breakouts. In the past I would break out here and there and then I would have white heads on my nose area and under the eye area. Since using this product that condition has gone away. I don't write reviews very often and mine is not to promote the product or advertise SkinCareRX but only to pass my experience with this product and to help someone else like it has helped me. I am looking forward to see what kind of results I will get after using this product for 12 months. Give it a try, it's only $40+ to see if it works for you. I read a lot of the reviews on this product and it looks like it has helped more people than not.
I'm starting my third bottle of Mama lotion and am EXTREMELY PLEASED with the results I've witnessed over the last year. As previous reviewers already mentioned, it takes a lot of time, diligence, consistency, and above all patience before you'll start to see results.
I had moderate acne scarring (pitted scars, depressed fibrotic scars, hyper-pigmentation...you get the picture), and in particular, one huge boxcar scar in the middle of my lip that bothered me for years. Mama lotion, however, took care of all of that. My skin has gotten better week by week, and that huge boxcar is nearly gone. I can't emphasize enough how well this thing works. Unlike others with sensitive skin, I'm actually able to use it every night following a thorough exfoliation with Clearasil Ultra cleansing pads. I find the beta-hydroxy acid in the Clearasil does a good job of getting rid of the top layer of dead skin, preparing it for the alpha-hydroxy acid combo in Mama which I apply afterwards. This may not work for those with sensitive skin, but if you're willing to give it a try, I'd highly suggest it! I'll continue to use Mama for the next year and can't imagine how my skin will look like in yet another 12 months.
O.k, i just finished my second bottle of mama lotion. i have to say it is the best acne scar treatment i have ever used. I have a condition that makes me break out and b4 i got diagnosed and treated, my whole face was covered with acne- serious acne. They left scars all over my face. I am an Africa America but i am not really dark in complexion so my whole face was spotty. I was ashame to go outside because my face was very horrible. And then i found this website and read all the reviews on MAMA lotion and decided to give it a try. It helped my face a lot. I still have to use make up to cover up but my face is a lot better ( like 80% better than before). The only problem now is i started having fine lines around my mouth and i am only 23. MaMa did not help for the fine lines so i advise any one using this to have a very good moisturizer. I am going to move on from Mama because it seems like it stop working on the scars but i will certainly have a reserve just in case. I just discovered another product online just like i discovered Mama.I will advise any one who has second thoughts about buying Mama to go ahead and try it coz it really works.
I am now ordering my second bottle of MaMa lotion. I was almost completely finished with my first bottle before my skin started to respond. I am African-American with a lot of hyper-pigmentation. I am also an esthetician and I have tried a lot of products. I used MaMa for a very long time before it began to peel of the layers of pigmented skin and now my skin is looking great. So remember the skin condition you are trying to correct didn't happen overnight and it is not likely to go away in two or three weeks. Be patient as I learned, "good things really do come to those who wait!"
I recently purchased this product after reading the reviews I've used it for about a little over a week and let me tell you I was very dissapointed with this product I started getting big time breakouts all over my face and neck. I guess I will go back to use my old products.

I'm not one for reviews, but this stuff WORKS! I've had stubborn acne forever (it seems) and acne scars (red marks that fade to brown spots). Mostly moderate acne with a few large ones every now and again. I've been using the MaMa lotion for about a month now, and my face is 95% clear! I do think the rest just needs a bit more time to finish working out but this stuff is incredible! I wash with Kinerase cleanser and then use the MaMa every night. If you're just starting with it, use every other night or as directed because it takes a bit of getting used to. In the morning I cleanse again and just use a moisturizer (Kinerase cream) with a spf15 lotion over top of it (proactiv). I don't even need foundation anymore; MaMa has faded my acne scars and freckles as well as clearing my skin; it's so nice! I've tried Proactiv, scrubs, masks and almost everything else (including Retin-A) and this is the only stuff that works with a minimum of irritation (you may experience some at first but mine went away within the week, now I have none except for when I put it on at night and then it just itches/stings for a minute). I say just try it; if you're like me you've tried everything else!

After reading most of the reviews, I decided to try it because of the AHA combination. I've used it for a little more than a week and I'm noticing how it is clearing up my skin. My face is smoother, my pores are smaller and I definitely look better (calmer). I'm an African woman with blotchy and uneven pygmentation. My acne scars are still visible but I'm confident what with time, I'll see some good results. I'm pleased that I did not have to go to see a dermatologist to get these results. I'll definitely keep this product in my skincare routine.
I am also one of the unlucky one, i have been using this productfor for over 3 weeks now, I use it every the other night based on the instruction, prior to using this product, i tried PCA Skin (Phase 13), it burned my face, so i decided to give this one a try after i read all the reviews. Unfortunately, i have not seen any significant results yet, my brown spots are still there, the only thing has changed on my face is my skin tone, it's definitely more even and smooth, that's pretty much it. I guess my next step is to try the third product on my list, Obagi, keep my finger cross...
I have been using MaMa lotion for 4 weeks now. I don't understand the hype. Obviously I am one of the unlucky ones that this product does not work on. I have used it every night...no stinging, no peeling whatsoever! I had semi hoped for the stinging so I would know that it was working. The best thing it did do was clear up the rough skin on the backs of my arms. I have tiny bumps there and they are always rough, I used the lotion and my arms are smooth after only two treatments! As for my face, I will continue searching.
My skin got all flaky and dryed out, not just in the first week, but every time I used it, what are some more moistureizing products of yours that I could try. [P.S it kept my rinkles away but it just dryed out my skin.]
I've tried many expensive treatments but none worked until I used Mama Lotion. The only caveat is that it is an expensive treatment for back acne as the bottle lasted me 2 weeks worth of daily nightly treatments. But I will keep buying this lotion as my painful cystic acne disppeared within a week and right now I have clear skin except for the scars/hyperpigmention which have also lightened then before. I am very happy with results.
Initially I started using this product and did not see any wonderful results. Then I started back on the product with consistent use. So far it was worked wonders! I have been back and forth to many dermotologist and tried many types of treatments, even Fraxel, a very expensive tretment, over $2000.00; After the Fraxel I did not see much improvements. However, the MaMa lotion has done what nothing else has manage to succeed with, clearing up my Acne! I am loving it so far. I can only hope for continued success.I also use the NuCelle wash along with the Nucelle sunscreen w/30SPF and the Oil control lotion, I live in Kuwait where it gets extremely hot,and thus far my acne and oil seems to be under control.
I am a fair skinned, brown haired, blue eyed female of Irish decent. I have had the hardest time finding something that would even out my skin tone without breaking out my skin. Also, my skin would look so greasy from other nightly lotions I used. I absolutely LOVE MaMa Lotion. I am 45 years young and thanks to MaMa Lotion no one believes me and always ask to see my license to verify. I don't say that out of conceit, I say that out of gratitude to MaMa's Lotion. My skin tone has FINALLY evened out. My skin looks brighter and more toned. And, thankfully, I have noticed the fine lines on my face are gone!!! It would be great if there was a way to soak in MaMa Lotion from head to toe. :-)

I really like this treatment. My skin takes to it very well, so I am able to use it every night; I allow it to soak in and dry, then follow it with a moisturizer. It has made my skin more radiant, softer and has begun to clear my acne. All I need to do now is find an equally effective day treatment, to prevent break-outs during the day, underneath occasional make-up. Suggestions? (My experience has shown that "wimpy" treatments containing 2% or less of Salicylic Acid or Benzoyl Peroxide don't do their job.)
I tried this product twice and I now have dark, dry looking blotches on my face. Has anyone had such and what did they do to get rid of them. I have since stopped using this product.
I came to this site first to look for a retinol treatment but after reading the reviews for this I decided to give it a try, so I figured I should contribute with a review as well. I have been using this for about 6 months and it is the most valuable possession i own. I have suffered from humiliating acne for about 10 years and now within about the last 4 years the scars and large pores have been catching up to me as well. The first morning after I used this all of my blackheads disappeared OVERNIGHT and have never returned. My red blotchy scars are 85% gone and I only use it about twice a week, I am only about 3/4 through my first bottle after about 6 months. On the days after I use it I have no mid day or even end of the day oiliness what so ever. Needless to say my breakouts are completely gone, i think ive had 3 pimples since i started using this. I did peel a little if i use it less than 2 days apart but a little apricot scrub and its all gone. I use no other products besides plain dove cleanser and plain fragrance-free neutrogena moisturizer. I'm in love! I know its not going to work the same for everyone, but it is definitely worth a try.
I wanted to wait to write my review after i have been using the MaMA Lotion for 1 month. I have seen great results after 4 weeks. You may breakout at first but do not stop using the end result is flawless glowing skin. Even my husband said my skin looked great.
I have NOT tried this product but I am an African American 51 yo female who would like to brighten the back of my neck. I have a "strip" of hyperpigmentation on the back of my neck. I have tried all kinds of products with the last being TriLuma which made my neck even darker! After several weeks I knew I needed to discontinue that. Has anyone tried using this product on your neck and if so, how did it work.
i started using it last nite. after reading all these reviews i decided to give it a try. i have adult acne and i an on my last 2 days of dicoxycline(..something like that)antibiotic. i need to stop the antibiotic as i want to get pregnant again. i am 35 and the acne and its' scarring is depressing and embarrasing.i was contemplating obagi. they have a fader but it has hydroquinone....really harmful. i will write back in a week or so...wish me luck. can anyone recommend a good cleanser and moisturiser to use along with mama lotion?
I have never written a review before, but I really appreciated reading all the reviews for Mama Lotion before I had even bought it. MaMa Lotion REALLY DOES WORK. I haven't used it on my face at all . . so I'm not sure how it helps with acne . . however, I am FOR SURE that it is a working product, period. I have dark knees and elbows and have always struggled to get rid of them. I have used MaMa to lighten my knees and elbows and it is definitely a MIRACLE! It started working after the first use! After a week, I could definitely see results. For me, SOMETHING is definitely better than NOTHING. So hopefully, it will continue to ring true! As many other reviewers said --- PATIENCE PATIENCE PATIENCE. By the way, I have also gotten my sister and mother hooked on this product! ENJOY!!
I've been using MaMa lotion for the past 5 or 6 months and let me tell you my pores are clearer than ever, and smaller! It's great for spot treating those stubborn break outs. Or use as an all over treatment a few times a week for smooth, even, clear skin
After one month of using Mama Lotion...My skin is starting to glow..my pores are smaller...dark marks have faded dramaticaly...my skin is softer...and the monthly breakout tried to come to surface but it just disappeared...I have been getting chemical peals for 10 years...and this product by far is the best treatment I have had..I also use Palmers cocoa butter to moisterize..and Palmer's brightning wipes...together everything is coming together...my dermatogist says my skin looks great...a couple of his patients told him that it's great for toning the skin...he's actually the one who told me to give it a try...I apply it on the entire face like 2 or 3 time a week..and I spot treat on the days I don't..the peeling is not as bad as I thought it would be...maybe it's because I've been getting chemical peels for so long now the peeling from those are so most worse...also Mama lotion brings those hidden pimples to surface which is great...and they really haven't left any marks if so they are so small...you can't really tell...so far I give this product a perfect 10...the best thing is...I don't have to really use foundation like I use to...It's great when your ready to cover up marks and they aren't there anymore...marks fade quickly and I'll be back next month with another review....P.S. I have an appointment with my dermatolgist on Tuesday...but I'm cancelling because I really don't need any type of treatment right now...

I have struggled with adult acne for over 3 years and NOTHING helped. I spent hundreds of dollars trying to find something that would at least lessen the intensity and frequency of my breakouts. I had very stubborn cystic acne and whiteheads. This product has helped immensely. I have been using it since September of 2007, and believe me, it does not work overnight. BUT it has worked. I still get pimples, but very infrequently which is great for me. I can't say Mama will work for everyone, but for me it has been a lifesaver. I have combo/oily skin so as long as I put a moisturizer on a half hour after application, drying was not an issue.
I tried Nucelle's lotion first and unfortunately was not impressed. Mama lotion just worked so much better for me. I hope this review helps someone!!
I purchased the product after reading the reviews. I have used this product for two months and have not seen any improvements on my skin. When I apply it, my face is sticky and it burns for about a minute after the application. I won't be buying it again. I will continue using M.D. Forte with glycolic acid - really superb products and highly recommended.
I am a woman of color and believe me I have tried almost every product out there for acne. Murad, Proactive, Obagi, Acne-Free, Neutrogena, Noxema...and the list goes on. I have been using MaMa Lotion for about a month now. I have seen a reduction in breakouts when I use the product as directed. Thankfully my skin is not sensitive to the product so starting this week I am going to kick it up a notch a try using it everyday rather than every other day. I follow the following regimen: I wash and tone with Nucelle Mandelic Cleanser and toner and I use a moisturizer from AMBI with 30 SPF and it is great. I have not experienced any peeling or skin irritation. My scarring has cleared a little not as much as I hoped for but it has only been a month so I am going to give it time. I hope this helps someone and I would definietly recommend trying this product, after all there is the 60 day money back gurantee... :-)
I tried the mama lotion, and it dried me out horribly. I followed all the directions, it says it's for dry skin, but it sure did'nt work for me, my skin dried out worse and premature wrinkling as a result in several places. I'm blonde, fair, and it was just too much.
Excellent product--works better on my acne than any prescription drug.... three years ago I was desperate to find something that would help with my adult acne....Amen to Ma Ma
I know it sounds to good to be true. But I love it. I have worked in dermatology for a long time, and have used the standard retinoids. This is great lotion. I have darker skin and I have had nothing but great results.
This products makes my skin SO smooth and soft. My skin looks brighter also. It helps heal blemishes and it has not caused any breakouts. I have only been using this product for 2 weeks and my skin looks so much better already. I have been using it on my chest also and it has made a big difference there. I have been using MaMA Lotion for about 4 weeks now. The results are amazing! I have had acne damaged skin for 25+ years and my skin is so much improved in just 4 weeks. I have not had anything even close to a break out and my scarring is MUCH better. I still have some "deep" areas that will need professional attention, but overall I feel so much prettier. There were some warnings on the instructions about burning and peeling, but I experienced none of this and I have very sensitive skin and use the lotion everyday. This product can never leave my medicine cabinet! I am 26 yo African American with hyperpigmented acne scars, and this product has done so much for the marks in only about 3 months, I have never been able to go with out very heavy make up to cover the scars. NO longer. People are always complimenting me on my skin now. Thank you mama!! : )
Got two laser treatments for $200 each and bright redness gone. Nose gets a little red - but before I was thought to be rudolph. Pulsed dye laser at dermatologist. Very happy with results.
i have a question. i've read dozens of testimonals on acne, melasma, scars, but none on success with rosacea. is there anyone who can tell me it helps?
I am have been troubled with acne, over 30 years. Like alot of women, I went from adolecent acne to adult acne, cysts that wouldn't go away. irritating my skin with products that promised to work, but didn't. I also have melasma to add to my woes. God has lead me to your product. I do no have the cysts, or adult acne breakouts anymore!, And my oily skin is under control now!

Makeup was harder to apply, but I don't think I waited long enough, so my fault. But it looked and felt so much better when it was on. I've never had smooth skin before and I noticed a difference almost immediately after using Mama. I got the sample but now I'll definitely order more. Just be sure to follow the directions and moisturize as needed.
I am a product junkie, so I am always happy to try something new. So, when I heard about MaMa lotion from one of my beauty boards, I just had to try it. However, the price was a bit scary - until someone told me that it lasts for months. I figured I would give it a try, and if it did not work, I could always get my money returned.
I also have acne, which never seems to go away. I may be lucky to have 2-3 days of clear skin, but they always come back. In addition to acne, I am mixed with Black & Puerto Rican, so I have hyperpigmentation here and there, and my acne scars stay for at least 6 months at a time.
I tried MaMa lotion, loved the burning sensation (means it's working!!), but hated the skin peeling. Now wait - I am happy that my skin peeled...it had to remove the dead surface skin. BUT, the peeling took a few days, and I spent a few hours scrubbing with a washcloth. Still a 5 star product though!!
One thing I have noticed. If I have a pimple, I just dab a small amount on it, and within 2-3 days, the pimple dries out. The skin also peels off (still a bit dark, but it lightens). I also get cystic pimples (HATE THEM!!), so I must make sure NOT to apply MaMa lotion on them. Have tried to apply the lotion to my cystic acne, and it took longer to heal. Just a warning for you all.
Overall - this product lasts forever...and please, after you apply the product, apply a good moisturizer after 5 minutes. Otherwise...the peeling is crazy. :-)

I don't think I ever written a product review, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to write about this product. I've been using is it since 1 Jan 08 and couldn't believe the results after just the first couple of weeks. Now I'm about 6 weeks into this stuff and I'm amazed at the difference it has made. I can ALMOST wear no makeup!!! After wearing make-up daily for nearly 20 yrs. All I can say is try it for yourself!! you won't be sorry. This stuff is serious....follow the directions I experienced less peeling when I did that. My hyperpigmentation is almost gone, not one pimple or blackhead (only initially)and my skin texture is near flawless. I truly can't say enough about this product.
I got a bad sunburn in June of last year, the first in at least 15 years. Ever since, my face seemed to be a slightly darker shade than normal. I am normally extremely fair (a redhead). I also have freckles all over my face, arms, etc. The freckles on my face have seemed to be larger and more spotty around my eyes over the past 10 or so years, and I wanted to try to lighten those areas up. I used MaMa Lotion as directed and in less than a week found myself with terribly chapped, flaking, bizarrely wrinkled skin. I mean - lines I had never ever even seen before were suddenly full blown wrinkles, all over my face. I looked truly awful and as if I had aged decades overnight. I slathered my face with Aquaphor for three nights running, and finally more or less returned to normal. That being said, I will VERY occasionally use MaMa because in the end it did seem to lighten up my skin and normalize it's hue. However, I am very careful with frequency and apply only a very, very tiny amount of product. It does work as a lightener, but on me it is dangerously drying. Also, weirdly, it seemed to somehow thin out my skin so that even now, several months later, I see more age stress in my skin than I did before I used it. This was a very abrupt and unpleasant change I directly relate to my first week on MaMa, so be careful.
After several trips and over a year to a dermatologist and using his recommended daily prescriptions, nothing worked. If anything, my problems became worse if anything occured at all. I began using MaMa Lotion Jan. 1, 2008 every other day. Hyperpigmentation, dryness and scarring gave me reasons to be self-conscious. Makeup didn't even cover the problems. Today, Jan 30, 2008, my face looks fantastic. My complexion has cleared dramatically, feels supple and I am extremely pleased with the results. MaMa Lotion is the best product I have found. I saw my determatologist the last week of December and then Jan. 16. He believes his prescribed solutions is the result. I haven't had the heart to tell him I had discontinued his solutions and began using MaMa Lotion. I'll definetly recommend it. Rating this product with a "5"?? I give it a "10"
By the way, I am an African-American dark skinned woman and think that alternating the usage was best for my skin type, followed by a rich moisturizer and using the moisturizer daily.
I wanted something that was going to get rid of my acne scarring and after some careful research decided to give MaMa lotion a go. I wasn't sure if it really worked or was just hype but this stuff is truly amazing.After just a few weeks the indentations have disappeared and I am left with lovely smooth skin!!!!

Funny how things work out. As I said in the previous post, I don't want to give up on MaMa lotion, even if it's already been 2 months with no signs of positive results. After today, I'm definately NOT going to give up on MaMa lotion now, thanks to what just happened...
Last night, I did what I always do. I put some MaMa on two specific hyperpigmentation spots on my face. I noticed it burned a bit more than usual, upon application and in regards to the duration, and when I awoke this morning, the spots were darker---ALOT darker. I just chalked it up to MaMa's collection of disappointments to a suffring sista, until I started touching the area and noticed that the skin was very scaly.
I picked at one of the spots and let out a scream of delight as the "dark spot" peeled right off my skin, revealing perfectly colored skin underneath. Ditto for the second "dark spot".
I'm like, wow, how things do change. And quickly. I think it took this long (2 months) for MaMa to work in my skin, and the dark spots, while alarming at first, are the ingredients in MaMa pushing the darkened skin closer to the skin's surface, thus appearing "darker" than before. Once you see this, don't give up faith...maintain your regimen and the "dark spot" (i.e. hyperpigmented skin that is ready to be removed) can easily be peeled away manually, with exfoliation or while washing your face with a washcloth.
What a diffrence a day makes. Needlesstosay, I'm excited and will maintain my MaMa regimen...

I'm 42 years old, part asian, very oily skin, olive skin tone, on-going acne with scaring, hyperpigmentation mainly on cheek area. Believe me when I say I have been there and done that with counntless products from Epiquin and other presciption lightners,various skincare lines from Obagi to MD. Slight lightning,still loads of concealer to "hide",besides that, nothing helped with the oiliness.UNTIL NOW....purchased Nucelle products along with MAMA, put MAMA aside fearing not knowing what was working. Nucelle provided me immediate relief of oiliness with less clogging, slow but steady lightning of hyperpigmentation without any irritation. Ran out of Nucelle serum, brought the MAMA out and my results, so far, are getting better than ANYTHING I've tried. I currently use the nucelle line w/out the serum replacing it with MAMA. The Moisture Shine Control is key for my oily skin and works better than anything. I am no longer on harsh prescription topicals and no longer have to apply heavy concealer. Bottom line,MAMA with nucelle has hepled my acne, oily skin and melasma. Finally.
Again not to mention my melasma clears off pretty well with hq creams and returns when i dont use them
Can mama lotion completely fade out the melasma
Can i use other whitening creams when i use this product
Can this be used during pregnancy too ?

I read all the reviews left on this site BEFORE purchasing the product, and opted to purchase because #1) I was out of resources (tried numerous products, including ProActive to NO avail) and #2) the VAST MAJORITY of reviews left on this site were exuberant in their love for MaMa lotion.
I've used the product for almost three months now, and have no significant changes in my hyperpigmentation. If anything, my skin looks a bit more wrinkly in the spots I put the lotion.
I eat healthy, drink lots of water, but still have hyperpigmentation...
Very unhappy. At first I was excited so I used MaMa every other day. Then I calmed down, stopped using it for a week because my skin became overly dry, and rectified it by applying shea butter on my face to rejuvenate and rehydrate my skin. The I used MaMa every three days, easy on the dosages.
That's been my routine thus far and I'm very disappointed with its "results". I've experienced NO peeling, and No lightning effects.
I don't want to give up though; I've suffered from acne -thus hyperpigmentation- since I was in 3rd grade, and I just made 25!!!
Any suggestions????
I tried this for 2 months and had NO results. Except I broke out WAY more. And now I have even more red marks then I did too begin with. Do not recommend this product, would NEVER buy again.
Im not sure this is working. January 15, 2008 will mark 3 months of mama lotion use. I used to use obagi and saw a HUGE improvement in 4 months time. So, im giving mama lotion til the end of february and if i see no change im going back on obagi. It seems for many mama lotion is STRONG, peels their skin, and works, and on their behalf, im rating this 4 stars, but for me? This does not peel my skin, it does not hurt when i put it on, maybe my skin is just resistant to it? Anyway, if mama lotion doesnt work for you, give obagi a try. I just wanted to try something cheaper
I bought (3) samples tubes of the MaMa Lotion and I have been using it now for 2 weeks. I have red marks on my face from picking with my acne pimples and they look very ugly and red. I have been hearing so much about MaMa Lotion that i wanted to give it a try. I can HONESTLY say that this worked for me within 2 weeks, I can see the marks fading away and I have not had any breakouts. I use this along with DDF Products which is great. The key to the great affects of the MaMa Lotion is to keep it on your face for 20 minutes without letting anything touch your face, let it soak into the skin. I am 34 years old and have been suffering from adult acne for over 10 years now. I've tried so many other products and have been using Pro-Active religiously for years, but nothing really helped with the acne. I started using Mama's Lotion about 4 weeks ago and my acne has almost completely gone away. I haven't had any excess dryness, peeling or stinging either (maybe because my skin was already used to the drying agents in Pro-Active). I use it every other night and am loving it!

I have read a lot of these reviews. I am also a product junkie: have oily, large pored, blackheads, and cysts. Been on tazorac, differin, clyndamycin, accutane (3 x), used major drugstore brands and primarily use now expensive brands - love MD Forte, Topix...
I used a sample of mama lotion on an emerging cyst - and the next morning - it brought it to the surface, reduced the redness, and made it smaller - it basically sped up the natural process of the cyst. It also overnight reduced the pigmentation on old larger acne marks that I have been trying to get rid of with HQ.
This stuff will speed up the process of bringing CURRENTLY existing pimples and blocked pores to the surface, which were under surface. So it actually doesnt make it worse - it just speeds up the process of it erupting on your face. So with or without the lotion - they would have come eventually. Also, you should really not be using this on sensitive dry skin - ie the eyes area and the chest area - these places have little to know oil glands - you are asking for permanent damage. Dont do it. Having said that -I am going to be purchasing a full size product now. I am impressed.
Remember - this is NOT a moisturizer. It is a treatment!
All skin reacts differently to this lotion, so please give it time to notice long-term improvements. Also, adjust amount and frequency depending on your skin reaction.
Mature skin cells turn over more slowly than younger skin cells, so change will be gradual over time for older skin.
Plus, there is a dimishing effect after long-term use, meaning the difference of skin tone will be greater at the beginning of use, and then only small improvements will be noticed.
If you stop usage, skin will revert back to what is normal for your skin.
Lotion is great for spot treatment on blemishes.
I think it is better for normal/oily skin than dry/normal skin.
If you have dryer skin, after MaMa soaks in, add moisturizer.
Watch samples - they are not packaged in a stable environment and lotion may lose its potency. My samples were nothing compared to the actual bottled lotion. The bottled lotion is packaged correctly and feels 'stronger' than the samples, only because the samples are in a tube allowing air and light inside, rendering the ingredients almost useless.
Great investment for face for long-term. It has reduced melasma and wrinkles on my face. One tube lasts about six months.
I'm an Asian American with a pretty light skin tone. I don't have acne anymore, but I do have a few little breakouts here and there. I have some small pitted scars left from the acne which I just hate! Anyways, the lotion didn't make them go away. I noticed that they would make my scars look darker and more red one day, then my scars would look lighter another day. So it hasn't really worked for my scars. HOWEVER, I do like this lotion because it clears up most of my pimples. When I have a small pimple, I'll put it on, and the pimple will usually go away within 2-3 days, and it never "grows" any larger. Also, I've noticed that my pores have gotten smaller also, but they're still there. The only really bad thing is that I started getting a dry patch on my chin, so I stopped using the lotion for awhile. But now I've resumed using it because whenever I don't use it, I tend to get a few pimples here and there. Whenever I put it on, I usually only feel the tingle for about 3-4 seconds, then it's gone. It's not too bad anyways. Just don't use it when your skin's super sensitive!
I will never understand why a skin product that is targeted for people with problem skin would contain silicones. Is it any wonder that is breaks out some people? Remove the silicones and the waxes and the product and it might work for more people!
I am an africian american female I had old acne spots and large cystic acne. I have been using this product along with Nucelle basic kit and all I keep getting is comments on how my skin looks wonderful. I use as directed and drink plenty of water and take a multi vitamin every 3 days. These product do what they say they will do you just have to follow the directions and always test to see what works for you. Thats what the doctors do
I received a tiny free sample of this lotion from an order 6 months ago and used it on a scar on my face from picking/scratching a break out. The next day it peeled right off with hardly any pinknes under it. A skincarerx rep called to see how I was doing with the products I ordered 6 months ago and I said wow what was that sample that you sent it was really good.
I tried this mama lotion and it did nothing for me. I was using it for about 2 months expecting some improvement and nothing happened at all. I also noticed some small bumps that began to come on my nose. Im using this cream now called mega blast bleaching cream and it has cleared me up and lightened my skin. google it. Its a good choice and one I would recommend.
